Position: Mechanical Source Inspector  

Location: Cedar City, UT

Duration: Ongoing Contract

Frequency: 16 hours per week - 1099

 

 

Job Description:

 

The mechanical quality inspector shall perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.  Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.  The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application. Must have direct Aerospace work experience. (i.e. aircraft mfg, detail fabrication, machined parts, etc.)

 

Prefer candidates to be within 75 miles from supplier's location

 

Requirements:

 

• The ability to understand complex engineering drawings and specifications (ANSI-Y-14.5)
• A minimum of six (6) years hands-on experience in the aircraft industry performing applicable product verification and supplier surveillance tasks
• The ability to speak, read and write in English with effective communication skills
• Extensive and broad ranging aircraft commodity knowledge and experience to include; Structures, Mechanical Assemblies, Precision Machined Parts, Sheet Metal Parts, Fasteners, Castings and Forgings, Engines, Hydraulics, Electrical Components and Systems, Avionics, Raw Materials and Consumables, Special Processes (Welding, Painting, Coatings, NDT, Heat Treat, Bonding)
• Must be familiar with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Flight Safety Products
• Must have personal computer with e-mail and internet access
• Must have a working cell phone
• Must pass the Basic Mechanical Test with a score of 84% or higher
• Experience with Digital Data - reading/interpreting only. Navigation/programming experience not required

• Must be eligible to perform services in the United States using acceptable documentations as specified in the Bureau of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (BICE) form I-9
