Job Description:
The MRB Quality Engineer is responsible for administration of the Material Review Board process to ensure effective and efficient processing of non-conforming materials including disposition and procedure / process deviation management in accordance with AS9100 and AS9131 Nonconformance Data Definition & Documentation, while ensuring timely accurate inventory tracking both electronically and through physical hardware accountability. They are also responsible for performing MRB data trend analysis and issue corrective action strategically through the Quality Clinic and maintain an MRB Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to facilitate MRB reduction over time and help prevent repeat of discrepant materials.
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have 3 - 5 years' experience with MRB, PRA, CAPA
- Coordinate disposition of Preliminary Review Analysis (PRA) of Scrap, Rework to Blue / Print, Return to Vendor (RTV) through the applicable approved Customer Project / Program Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, etc.
- Coordinate disposition of Material Review Board (MRB) of Use-as-Is (UAI), Repair, Return to Vendor (RTV) through the applicable approved Customer Project / Program Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, etc.
Perform MRB Process training to maintain certification of MRB Members - Conduct MRB data trend analysis and issued Corrective Actions to target the reduction and elimination of systemic design, manufacturing, supplier, quality process issues
- Conduct MRB dispositions audits in compliance with Customer requirements to validate MRB Process full compliance
Enforce all functions compliance with the MRB Process requirements by reviewing dispositions technical documentation and technical content and validating full compliance with the MRB process requirements - Train inspection and production personnel on MRB process documentation in compliance with AS9100 and AS9131 aerospace standards
- Manage MRB process flow and board to maintain MRB timely disposition processing and control aging in compliance with MRB Process metrics requirements
- Maintain MRB electronic inventory content aligned with MRB Physical inventory to ensure zero
- Help facilitate closure of assigned CAPAs and internal audits in a timely manner.
- Maintain complete and accurate CAPA and Internal Audit files and records.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve CAPA and internal audit processes.
- Thoroughly understand the processes and investigation techniques to effectively review MRB CARS related investigations, root-cause, proposed actions and effectiveness plans and to ensure that the true root-cause is addressed.
- Develop and communicate CAPA and MRB related Internal Audit metrics to management on a regular basis.
Recognize challenges and escalate in a timely manner to resolve issues.
