Overview


Job Description: The quality inspector shall perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Commodity is raw materials (Aluminum Extrusions, Castings, Bars, Plates). Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements: Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings, measuring and testing equipment, evidence of more than 1 year in the last 3 years of aerospace inspection experience, and knowledge and experience in mechanical inspection. Candidate would preferably have knowledge of AWS D17 weld. Candidate also needs to be familiar with inspection of welded areas, underfills, undercut conditions, as well as taking measurements of the features and documenting them. Candidate must also demonstrate knowledge of geometric, dimensioning, and tolerancing, and knowledge of computer skills in recent versions of Microsoft Excel and Word programs. Inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Ideal candidate will have familiarity with 3D model based definition programs and has completed at least 4 First Article Inspections per AS9102.


Frequency: 3 days per week, approximately 4 hours each day


Duration: 3 months, possibly up to 6+ months
