Overview

The Electro-mechanical Source Inspector will be required to work in the Overland Park, KS area with Defense/Military and Aerospace background. The candidate must be able to travel to various supplier locations outside of required areas including surrounding states from original assignment site with occasional exceptions.

 

The candidate must be flexible to accommodate shifting priorities and be able to work well with supplier representatives and have good communication skills. Paid travel and overnight accommodations IAW government per diem when necessary. Must have cell phone. Computer is not provided. US Citizenship is required.

 

Frequency: Approximately 2.50 hours every other week (Hours are not guaranteed and may fluctuate depending on the time of month.)

Duration: 12+ months

 

Candidate must have at least 5 years of quality assurance experience, which includes:

  • Experience in RF Hybrids, Mil PRF 38534 and Mil-Std-883, particulary visual inspection to methods 2010, 2017 and 20132
  • Ability to inspect and test RF Hybrids
  • Thorough experience with J-STD-001 and IPC 610 soldering
  • Ability to read and interpret simple and complex drawings, specifications, geometric tolerances, and processes
  • Auditing manufacturing processes to SAE, ASTM or Military Standards
  • Evaluation of corrective action for nonconforming products and the associated recommended corrective action
  • Inspecting machined parts, mechanical assemblies, tooling, cables and harnesses
  • Precision mechanical inspection tools
  • Validate First Article Inspections to AS9102 standard
  • Electrical Test witness
  • Qualification test witness
  • Computer literate in EXCEL and Word
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5
  • Working knowledge of Electrostatic Sensitivity (ESD) and precautions
  • Working knowledge of Calibration Standards and practices Z540.1

The following background is a plus:

  • Evaluation of printed circuit board manufacturing processes
  • Inspection of printed circuit board
  • Auditing manufacturing processes to SAE, ASTM or Military Standards
