Industry:  Aerospace/Defense Position:  FAI Quality Engineer Location:  Irvine, CA Job:  2024-12901 Duration:  3–4 months Frequency:  Full-Time (40 hours) Pay Range:  $50 -$55/hour     Job Description:   - The Senior Quality Inspector shall perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with Aerospace Standard AS9102. - Performing First Article Gap Analysis, identify and report discrepancies - Generate first article inspection (FAI) projects to be used during CMM inspection. - Confirmation that the First Article Inspection Record (FAIR) is accurate and completed for a part number or assembly and that all part, product, and characteristic accountability aspects are addressed prior to approval. - Perform FAI package reviews and/or audits to ensure compliance with FAI requirements. - The candidate will ensure the accuracy and completeness of all engineering design requirements records on the AS9102 forms. - Ensure CMM’s integrity, calibration, qualification, etc. - The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. - Determines unstated or hidden dimensions from a blueprint, working with fractions, decimals, and trigonometry. - Inspect parts, assemblies and finished products in accordance with specifications and/or legal requirements. - Follows company’s inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials. - Produce inspection reports as appropriate / requested. - Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
